If you haven’t yet come to the conclusion that we’re very much automotive enthusiasts… let us make it abundantly clear to you. We love cars. So when we came across Unique & Limited, our hearts melted. Alright maybe that’s an exaggeration, it’s more like they unquestionably had our attention. Taking after their company name, the creation process for every piece is extraordinarily intense and somewhat unique.
Every painting starts off as an event in history that is researched in great detail backed by an immense amount of man-hours. Each piece alone will oftentimes take a team of four artists over six months to research and produce. Although the finished product is a digital work of art, the production life-cycle involves many physical stages that ultimately come together in the end creating one beautifully and digitally rendered painting.
To give you just a glimpse of what the process looks like, the idea is conceptualized and sketched out on paper first, over 2000 original historical picture references are gathered including original owners, witnesses, and manufacturers, photo-shoots are completed oftentimes including the actual subject of the piece and then all other finishing touches are added in during post-production. The level of dedication before, during, and after production in creating the artwork is quite possibly unmatched. Consequently, the name Unique & Limited, is therefore very fitting. As stated by themselves, “our methods are unique, and our finished pieces are limited.” Enjoy a video on their production process of the James Hunt / McLaren piece down below and thanks for stopping by.
