A couple of Saturdays ago we spent pretty much all afternoon drinking coffee and beer. Lots, and lots of coffee. Coffee in all shapes and sizes, beautified by carefully poured flowers of all sorts. They wouldn’t stop coming, and we wouldn’t stop drinking. This is what happens when you spend an afternoon with Edilson Cremonese, founder of Coffee Hub. Having been around for a few years now Coffee Hub has grown from portable coffee trike to a soon-to-be fixed coffee boutique.
We like to think of Cremonese as much, much more than a exceptionally proficient barista. Instead we like to refer to him as a caffeinated mad scientist who also drinks a lot of beer. In fact he’s got so much espresso swag that he’ll continue brewing and pouring espresso shots while holding a profound conversation on coffee and barista culture all-the-while keeping you educated on exactly what you’re drinking. Every pour starts off in the grinder, weighed to exact measurements on a digital scale, poured for the exact amount of time, and caressed into a brightly colored ceramic cup with milk frothed to perfection. The end result is one very similar to James Bond himself handing you a Martini, shaken, not stirred. Except it’s Edilson Cremonese, and he’s handing you a warm, delicious cappuccino with white and brown swirls and a layer of froth plush enough to make your pillow jealous. This is barista craftsmanship mastered to perfection.
Cremonese began his coffee journey over fifteen years ago. As a competitor in adventure races he toured country-to-country drinking coffee and sprinting around on a bicycle. His love of both coffee and cycling paved the way for the Coffee Hub Tricycle. After offering pedal-powered coffee for some time now Cremonese came upon the opportunity to begin a new chapter of the Coffee Hub storyline.
The full-time physical therapist turned barista will now be retiring from the safety of his day-time career and dedicating himself entirely to brewing coffee for South Florida. Starting April 2018 Coffee Hub will be joining forces with The Little Sugars bakery. Located in Harrison Street in Hollywood, Florida the co-branded coffee/bakery collaborative will be fueling a chic neighborhood of shops and communities two miles away from the beach. The joint effort will complement each other well. The Little Sugars bakery specializes in succulent petite bites, cakes of all sizes and for all occasions, and ships crates loaded with baked goodies all across the nation. Pairing these with Coffee Hub powered cappuccinos is well… intoxicating.
The Coffee Hub tricycle will continue appearing at events every now and then across South Florida however you can catch Cremonese almost daily at the The Little Sugars bakery perfecting his craft and loading customers with caffeine. Coffee Hub & The Little Sugars will be hosting a pie tasting this Saturday, April 14th as part of their grand opening and celebration of the partnership. The shop is located at 2028 Harrison Street #103 in Hollywood, Florida. Map and details below. Photos produced in-house by Zeros Media.
