Tucked away deep at the foothills of the Alps on the Italian border is Lake Como. A thin sliver of a lake shaped like a “Y” that plays host to some of the most scenic views in the world. Travel over to the Western shore of the South-Western branch of the lake and you’ll run into Laglio, a commune within the Lombardy region. This small commune is so desirable in fact that George Clooney even purchased a villa here that was used as a set in Ocean’s Twelve. It is here where this masterpiece of a villa graces its owners with around 27,000 square feet of picturesque nirvana. The estate plays home to a moderate seven bedrooms and boasts a whopping seventeen bathrooms. When you want to splash around on premise you have the option of relaxing in either an indoor or outdoor pool. Or, you can sweat off a days worth of stress in the lake-view spa… your choice. Personally, I love how hints of modern have been sprinkled throughout in the exterior however the interior to me is just a tad bit too classical. I feel there’s a small disconnect in interior design between certain aspects of the interior and exterior design elements and furniture selection. Style however is subjective and this may be design perfection to you. In any case, it’s a phenomenal villa. Feast your eyes in the gallery below. Images via Sotheby’s International.
